NAWBO celebrated the work of chapter leaders with its annual Recognition Awards luncheon on May 12, 2003. NAWBO is a grateful to many individuals—both members and corporate partners—for their time, insight, commitment and talent. Each year the president, along with the board of directors, makes a special effort to publicly honor those who contribute so much to the success of the only national association solely dedicated to supporting women business owners.

President Diane McCartney presented this year's special member awards. Katrina McBride of eXo associates, Inc. received the Member of the Year Award for her hard work and dedication to the membership and marketing committees. The Public Policy Advocate of the Year award was presented to Susie Morrissey of Bell Janitorial Supplies and Services for all groundwork and planning she has done for the Public Policy committee this year. The President's Award was presented to Suzi Berman of D Media Graphic Design for all her strategic planning in marketing and implementation of the new NAWBO D/FW Website.

President-Elect Wendy Lopez presented committee members with certificates of appreciation and awarded this year's Above & Beyond Recipients. The following committee members were recognized for their commitment and participation all year ‘round:
