For four consecutive years, UPS has been named among America’s Top Corporations for Women Business Enterprises by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). As part of its outreach to diverse suppliers, UPS mentors smaller companies and counsels other major corporations on how to increase their supplier diversity initiatives. In 2002, UPS spent more than US$131 million with minority and women-owned firms.
UPS is also one of eight corporations noted by WBENC for developing world-class quality in supplier diversity programs featuring women-owned businesses. The “Elite Eight” were recognized during a ceremony at the White House.
In addition, UPS was among Fortune magazine’s 2002 Top 25 “Best Companies for Minorities.” Minorities represent more than one-third of the company’s U.S. workforce of 330,000. Approximately 28 percent of UPS managers are minorities, including representation on the UPS Management Committee and the company’s Board of Directors.
UPS is the world’s largest package delivery company and a global leader in supply chain services. UPS offers an extensive range of options for synchronizing the movement of goods, information and funds. Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, UPS serves more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
