Cynthia Stine
by Debra Alexander

Our member spotlight this month is on Cynthia Stine of Joseph Sullivan & Associates. Her company’s mission is to help small-to-midsized business owners survive and prosper in extraordinary and challenging business circumstances. Joseph Sullivan LLC & Associates (JS&A) act as management advisors to companies nationwide experiencing such challenging business circumstances as start-up, rapid growth, management and ownership transition, mergers and acquisitions, workarounds, turnarounds, bankruptcy, capital acquisition, and business valuations. Their five primary areas of service include Management Advisors; Operations; Marketing & Sales; Change & Transition Management; and Corporate Finance [including business valuations/ appraisals]. For over 13 years, JS&A has served core industries including manufacturing, distribution, construction, real estate, consumer goods, publishing, franchising, retail and professional services.

Cynthia re-joined NAWBO in October of 2002 after completing her role as an employee to her previous business, which she sold in May, 2001. Cynthia is a member of the Outreach Committee, which assists women business owners in discovering the benefits of growing and learning with other women business owners. In addition, she participates in two Mastermind groups.

Cynthia says that NAWBO has provided her the opportunity to interact with a community of strong, smart women from which to resource in an uncertain economic climate.

Cynthia enjoys assisting others professionally. She also enjoys spending quality time with her immediate family and her niece, Emma. Her hobbies include reading, scrap-booking, knitting, cooking and social/political/theological discussions with friends and family. In addition, Cynthia cares about issues that affect women and children. She regularly supports charities financially and through volunteer work.

Cynthia is a professional writer, a marketing and communications expert and a 15-year veteran of the high tech industry, as well. Except for a brief period, she has owned her own business since 1994 and has spent most of her career understanding, articulating and promoting businesses and their products. She is passionate about helping other women to succeed and grow as business owners and believes that meaningful social and business changes for women occur when women assist each other on a one-to-one basis.

Please take the time to introduce yourself to Cynthia Stine at an upcoming NAWBO event.
