NAWBO Makes Connections With Trinity Fest 2003
Volunteer Now and Make Your Own New Connections!
by Susan Abrahamson

NAWBO is very excited about its partnership with Trinity Fest 2003, a festival to be held in downtown Dallas on Friday, July 4, 2003. Trinity Fest 2003, the second annual community-wide Fourth of July celebration, is free and open to the public. NAWBO will benefit from greatly increased community visibility, the opportunity to build stronger relationships with our Corporate Partners (many of whom will play a prominent role in the celebration) and the opportunity to participate with many of the city’s most notable business leaders in a new, different and exciting civic venue.

Last year’s event, the biggest fireworks show and festival in the history of Texas, was wildly successful, attracting almost 300,000 attendees who enjoyed top-notch entertainment (including Randy Travis, The Commodores, La Mafia and the Dallas Wind Symphony), a Kids Zone and Arts & Crafts area, an antique car exhibition, food and beverage concessions, and much, much more. This year’s Trinity Fest promises to be even better, with an equally fabulous fireworks show as the grand finale. Festival proceeds will benefit the Trinity Commons Foundation, a nonprofit group that provides focus, support and leadership to those charged with delivering on the promise of the Trinity River for Dallas.

NAWBO’s role in the partnership is to recruit, train and manage volunteers to staff the event. We are recruiting volunteers among individuals (including NAWBO members of course), corporations (including our Corporate Partners) and community organizations. Benefits of volunteering include a parking pass, T-shirt and visor--and the opportunity to network and make new connections! For more information or to sign up as a volunteer, please pick up a fact sheet and volunteer form at the next NAWBO monthly meeting, go to www.dallastrinityfest.com, or contact Susan Abrahamson (NAWBO’s co-chair of this partnership) at 972-490-0300 or via email at searchcom@sbcglobal.net.
