NAWBO Creates Connections

Starting a new year is an opportunity to look at what we’ve done the past year, both good and bad, and decide what we want to do to make this an even better year – otherwise known as New Year’s resolutions.

Here are my NAWBO 2003 new year’s resolutions:

1. Focus on relationships, not tasks. I don’t know about you but sometimes I find myself focusing so much on getting tasks done that I forget to have fun in the relationships with the other people on the team. In the end, the things we do will likely be forgotten but the relationships we build will not.
2. Celebrate our accomplishments. I want to remind myself, when I forget, that NAWBO is a volunteer organization. This means that our families, personal mental and physical health, and income generating businesses are higher priorities when we are allocating our time and energy. It also means that there will always be more to do than time to do it and that deciding and focusing on the highest priorities and celebrating them when they are accomplished is the way to go.

Our NAWBO Chapter slogo is “NAWBO Creates Connections” and my President’s theme for this year is “Create Connections to Make a Difference”. Making New Year’s resolutions to focus more on NAWBO relationships than tasks and on celebrating our NAWBO accomplishments are two ways I plan to use NAWBO to Create Connections to Make a Difference in 2003.

What about you – how will you use NAWBO to Create Connections in 2003?

President, NAWBO Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter
