Jean Biasci
by Melissa Grimes

Greetings and welcome to another exuberant addition to our NAWBO team, Jean Biacsi (aka: NurseJean).  Jean’s mission is minimizing the “sense of abandonment and isolation experienced by many people dealing with the healthcare system.”  In fulfilling her mission, NurseJean assists those with health insurance decisions and, in general, seeks to make healing and health a simpler process.  Her vision for the future is to evolve as the healthcare industry evolves, and to educate and hand-hold consumers as they assume increased responsibility for their own care.  As she attests, this change can be “confusing and scary.”  Her compassion, integrity and respect for the individual allow NurseJean to create a clearer path through the system.

Jean established her business in 2000, receiving certification as a woman-owned business the following year.  As a new entrepreneur, she views NAWBO as a “safe haven” to discuss opportunities and strategy with other professional women.  She believes in collaboration as a process whereby we all may succeed “beyond our wildest dreams.” Jean hopes to gain “support, advice, camaraderie, friendship, fun, leads and referrals” through her affiliation with NAWBO.  She offers herself as a speaker for us and shares her newly published book, NurseJean’s Practical Guide to Self-Care After Surgery.

Jean receives joy when she learns that her efforts result in “less stress, less pain and an improved quality of life” for another.  And, she adds, she does love to bring out the smile in someone.  Please take time soon to welcome NurseJean to NAWBO.  As is most always the case, this woman has amazing attributes to bring to us, and to receive from us in return.
