NAWBO is beginning a big-picture 5-year strategic planning effort chaired by Immediate Past President Barbara G. Stanbridge. This strategic planning process is being designed with multiple levels of participation for all NAWBO stakeholders. There will be opportunities for members, chapters, regions, corporate partners, sister organizations and other interested parties to participate in the strategic planning process.
An ongoing virtual learning community will be established through online and telephonic conversations. All chapters are urged to participate. At this point in the 21st Century we are very seriously looking at how can we re-vision, re-new and re-structure our 27-year-old organization.
A planning retreat will be held immediately following the Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City. The meeting will be held 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Monday, June 24, and 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25. All members are invited to attend. Anyone interested in participating in this planning retreat should stay tuned for how to register. Last year, Debra Weaver Parker was chosen from a bid process to be the consultant in charge of this endeavor. The process will utilize a future search and balanced scorecard approach.
