2002 Annual Conference
Salt Lake City, June 19-22

NAWBO’s combined Annual Meeting and Women’s Business Conference will be held June 20-22, 2002 at the Wyndham Hotel Salt Lake City and the Salt Palace Convention Center. Complete conference registration materials and a preliminary program of events are available on our Web site at www.nawbo.org. Planning for this landmark 2002 event is already well underway, so don’t miss your opportunity to be a part of it. Remind your chapter members that a NAWBO conference of this magnitude now happens only once a year. So if they miss it, they’ll miss a lot.

Among the keynoters are author A’Lelia Bundles, who wrote the bestseller "On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C.J. Walker," and the Honorable Hector Barretto, administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. A series of dynamic workshops, in separate tracks, offers valuable business-development and chapter- development training. Choose from 24 breakout sessions on useful and cutting-edge topics that will arm you with tools and resources for success.

Another feature is a companion procurement fair, “Contacts and Contracts,” hosted by NAWBO’s sister organization, the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC). This two-day procurement fair, scheduled for June 20 and 21 at the Salt Palace, will bring together corporations and government agencies seeking to identify and establish working relationships with women vendors to help fulfill their procurement needs. Contractors scheduled to attend include United Parcel Service, National City Bank, AT&T, Digital Economic Technologies, First Union/Wachovia and others. For more information on the procurement fair, contact Janet Harris-Lange, President of NWBOC at 800-675-5066 or info@nwboc.org.

NAWBO has reserved a block of rooms for Conference attendees at the discounted rate of $119 per night, plus tax, single/double at the Wyndham Hotel Salt Lake City. To receive the discounted room rate, call the Wyndham reservations desk at 801-531-7500 or toll-free at 800-553-0075; be sure to identify yourself as a “NAWBO Annual Conference Attendee.” All reservations must be made before the hotel cut-off date of Monday, May 20, 2002. After that date, the hotel cannot guarantee our lower room rate or room availability, so call today! For NAWBO’s association desk hotline for air travel reservations, call Diplomat Travel at 800-826-0888.
