Exciting News About Micro-Lending

The NAWBO Micro-Lending Program launch is right around the corner. The Finance Committee members and NAWBO board of directors are thrilled to bring this program to you.

Did you know that women entrepreneurs often fund their business purchases through credit cards?   Stop to consider the rate of interest charged by credit card companies--an average of between 16 percent and 25 percent.  NAWBO wants do do its part to end that trend by loaning our members money at reasonable rates. We will help you establish a record of credit activity to use with lending institutions, which will help you grow your company.

NAWBO is all about women-owned businesses. This loan program will be another grand benefit.  Think of it: the wonder of finding a place to go to for small, no-hassle loans. NAWBO is forming a new non-profit 501(c)(3) entity to make and oversee the loans. All applications will be held in the strictest of confidence.

The Finance Committee’s goals were to bring you a workable program--one in which you, as a NAWBO member, will find value, and one that works both for NAWBO and for NAWBO members.

The possibilities of this program are vast; however, to be successful, it will need your participation.

If you have questions about the loan process or loan specifics, contact Jamie Barnes (972-739-0681; jbarnes@abramsbank.com) or Kim Moore (972-776-5305; kimberlymoore@email.msn.com).  You can also contact any of the other Finance Committee members: Liz Russell, Whitney Hawk, Reagan Lorenzen or Loreine Smith.
