Central Florida Regional Growth Vision - What Can You Do?
In August, a Shared Growth Vision for Central Florida was presented to the community at the “How Shall We Grow?” Regional Summit hosted by the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce and its Regional Board of Advisors.  At the Summit, attendees were asked to make personal and business commitments in support of the Vision and its recommended development path – the Four Cs:  Conservation, Centers, Corridors and Countryside.

At the “How Shall We Grow?” Summit, more than 300 residents of Central Florida made commitments on what they could do, either personally or professionally, to help move Central Florida from our current development path to one that reflects the Central Florida Regional Growth Vision.

A listing of specific ideas, large and small, was provided to the Summit attendees including everything from washing you car over your lawn using eco-friendly cleaning products to shopping at one-of-a-kind locally owned stores in your community, from setting up recycling programs in offices to establishing flexible work hours to alleviate commuter traffic, and encouraging planning for recreational green space to building up, not out, when developing property.  These suggestions and many more are also posted on the website.  Click here for more: What Can You Do?

The pledges of Summit participants and more are now posted on the project website,
www.myregion.org, in four categories:  Planning and Policy Recommendations, Business/Organization Commitments, Individual Commitments, and Commitments Shared on our Message Board.  We invite you to take a look at what the citizens of Central Florida are doing to support the Regional Vision.

And then, we invite you to “get on board” by logging on and tuning in to this important community conversation: Make Your Commitment
. There is something you can do, right now, to make a positive difference for the future of our region.

Tell us what you want to do . . . and then “Just Do It!”
