What does our future hold? Rail or no rail? More birds or buildings? Sunny days or a hazy glaze? Will you voice your choice? Starting January 26, 2007, Central Florida citizens will have the chance to decide their future and let their voices be heard.
Since the start of the “How Shall We Grow?” Initiative in January 2006, Central Florida citizens have been asked to thoughtfully consider the question, “How Shall We Grow?” After reaching over 9,000 citizens through numerous community outreach efforts, four potential scenarios have been developed to provide citizens with different visions for the future. These scenarios, developed by the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, will weigh the pros and cons of each scenario in order to help citizens make a decision that best encompasses what is important to them.
Scenario selection will begin on Friday, January 26, 2007 and will culminate on Wednesday, February 14, 2007. Citizens will be able to select their preferred future by logging on to www.myregion.org and following the onscreen instructions.
The future of Central Florida lies in the hands of its citizens. Together we can make the decisions that will shape a brighter and more prosperous future for many generations to come. Let your voice be heard.
