Thinking about the future will be the focus of an expanded myregion.org Board of Director’s Retreat, which will be held on Friday, December 15, 2006.
The full-day retreat will provide Board Members with the opportunity to collectively begin a conversation about 2007 and beyond, deciding how to move forward upon the conclusion of the “How Shall We Grow” Campaign. They will be challenged with launching a “Task Force” responsible for anticipating the end of Phase II, the Implementation Phase of myregion.org, and moving ahead with other possible areas of focus. The Board will also begin to think strategically about their progress, assets, and continued stewardship.
Graduates of the first Central Florida Regional Leadership Academy, which took place earlier this year, have also been invited to participate in the retreat. The National Experts and Technical Team that supported the Academy have also been invited.
Before discussing what the future holds for myregion.org, the participants will review the history of the organization and celebrate some of the milestones that have been accomplished by over the last six years. They will also receive an update on the “How Shall We Grow?” campaign and other initiatives currently being conducted by myregion.org.
Prior to this meeting, participants were asked to complete an electronic survey before the meeting about their impressions of myregion.org. Their responses will be tabulated and shared with the group, serving to “jump-start” the meeting discussions.
The mission of the myregion.org Board of Directors is to guide implementation of the Regional Resolves and Priorities established as part of the Central Florida SourceBook – A New Regional Agenda. It is also designed to build a regional mindset for advancing and supporting the region, specifically in the areas of Economic Leadership, Education, Environment, Fragmentation and Branding, Quality of Life, and Smart, Quality Growth.
