Orange County uses a total of 80 million gallons per day of reclaimed water. According to per capita use, however, Seminole County uses 110 gallons per day per person, ranking first in the state for usage per capita. Although it was 23rd in the state for total population in 2002, Osceola County was ranked second in the state for per capita reclaimed water usage with 102 gallons per day per person.

Cypress Gardens Adventure for myregion.org

This past Friday, August 12th a dozen members of the myregion.org board had the opportunity to re-discover Florida’s original theme park! Cypress Gardens Adventure Park blends thrilling new adventures with its storied past, boasting 39 exciting rides, spectacular daily shows, and Jubilee Junction, a picturesque village where food and shopping take an entertaining old-fashioned twist.

Cypress Gardens was almost a thing of the past, but local, regional and state leaders joined forces and dollars to save this picturesque tourism spot (at one time, Kodak sold more film here than anywhere in the world!).
Though Cypress Gardens did close for a brief time, the re-opening of Cypress Gardens Adventure Park happened after months of redesign, refurbishment and four hurricanes! Many facilities were completely rebuilt and several new structures were added. The park maintains its rich history of botanical beauty and stunning water-ski shows while adding more than 150 animals in Nature’s Way, the famed butterfly arboretum, graceful southern belles and thrilling rides!
Additionally, the area is home to more than 150 animals, including reptiles, mammals and a variety of birds. One of the park’s more famous residents is Tarzan, a 75 year old alligator that once starred alongside Johnny Weissmueller in the “Tarzan” movies.
