Feel Better Today, about yourself and your health!

We know that Central Floridians love the outdoors and value the many natural environmental assets our community offers. So, live it up, enjoy our natural jewels and why not get healthier doing what you love?

What is Florida on the Move?

Florida On the Move, an affiliate of America on the Move, is a national initiative dedicated to helping individuals and communities across our nation make positive changes to improve health and quality of life. By focusing on individuals and communities FOM strives to support healthy eating and active living habits in our society.

Florida on the Move inspires Central Floridians to engage in fun, simple ways to become more active and eat more healthfully to achieve and maintain a healthy weight

Florida on the Move creates and supports an integrated grassroots network of state Affiliates to build communities that support individual behavior changes

Florida on the Move encourages public and private partnerships (like myregion.org) at the national, state, and local level to build the capacity, reach, and support needed for individual and community behavior change.

myregion.org's Challenge to Central Florida

It’s all about energy balance! We can stop weight gain by creating a balance between the amount of energy burned and the amount of food consumed throughout a normal day. The message is simple: move more and eat wisely.
Making these 2 small changes daily is all it takes.
Walk More: an extra 2000 steps (the equivalent of about 1 mile)
Eat Wisely: 100 fewer calories each day, (that's one less can of soda!)

Meet the Challenge!

Enroll now!  It's Free.  It's Easy.
Attend the Statewide Summit on Obesity this September 30, 2005.
Spread the word regionally for a healthier community.
Get Moving!!
