Orange County uses a total of 80 million gallons per day of reclaimed water. According to per capita use, however, Seminole County uses 110 gallons per day per person, ranking first in the state for usage per capita. Although it was 23rd in the state for total population in 2002, Osceola County was ranked second in the state for per capita reclaimed water usage with 102 gallons per day per person.

UCF sets record in research money
The University of Central Florida, Kennedy Space Center, Florida Space Research Institute, Florida Institute of Technology, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Brevard, Valencia and Seminole Community Colleges are providing leadership in the expansion of the region’s technology infrastructure through education, research, business incubation and commercial application of products and services.
The University of Central Florida and the Central Florida Research Park have brought Central Florida into the national picture of research and technology innovation. Ranked as one of the top ten research parks in the country by the Association of University Research Parks, the Research Park is home to 90 companies and 9,000 jobs.
Most recently and most notably, the University of Central Florida posted $103.6 million for research funding in fiscal 2004-2005 according to a recent Orlando Sentinel article.
