Fifty years ago, the Central Florida region boasted a population of 400,000. Today the population has increased to an impressive 3.2 million. If our current growth trend continues and the projections are correct, our children and grandchildren will see the region’s population boom to nearly 7.2 million people by the year 2050.

Education Summit
& Central Florida Public School Boards Coalition Present The Central Florida Education Summit
Exploring a New Regional Strategy for Global Educational and Economic Leadership Never before in our region’s history has such a gathering been called. But never before has there been an opportunity like this to work together to position our schools and our economy for world leadership. It’s an indisputable fact: Global competitiveness in the 21st century depends on the quality of education. If Central Florida is to build a stronger, more diversified economy, we must have K-12 schools that are grade-A not just by state standards, but by national and world standards. How can we get there? On April 21, leaders of business, government and education – including eight school superintendents – are coming together to explore PRISM, an innovative regional strategy to improve science and math education and make Central Florida’s school systems models of global excellence. Please join the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce Regional Board of Advisors, along with myregion.org, O-Force: Orlando Regional Workforce Development Partnership, Inc. and the Central Florida Public School Boards Coalition, for this landmark event.
