José Fernández New Orlando City Clerk

myregion.org CEO Roundtable member, José Fernández, is Orlando’s new City Clerk, becoming Mayor Buddy Dyer’s first appointee. He has been the President and CEO of the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund of Greater Orlando, Inc., (HBIF) since its inception in 1995. HBIF is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthen the economy of Central Florida through quality technical assistance and training to Hispanic entrepreneurs.

Mayor Dyer has allowed Fernández the flexibility to transition gradually into his new role at the City of Orlando while assisting HBIF during their search for a new President/CEO.

"This decision speaks volumes of the quality of individual we have in José Fernández," indicated Linda Landman-González, Darden Restaurants Director of Diversity and Community Affairs and Chairman of the Board of HBIF. "We know that José will take to the City the same kind of enthusiasm and dedication he gave HBIF for eight years."
