Working Toward a Common Goal

In December, the Executive Committee of myregion.org adopted fifteen (15) Regional Themes and five (5) Areas of Excellence upon which the framework for “regional
strategies for change” will now be built. Additionally, the Executive Committee authorized the establishment of a series of Workgroups to begin developing strategies to address the “Opportunities and Threats” associated with each of the Regional Themes.

The workgroups will also meet over the next few months with regional stakeholders enlisting their support of, and contribution to, the regional strategies being developed. These strategies will be designed to maximize opportunities and address challenges that threaten to undermine the ability of the region to compete successfully in the 21st Century.

Once the regional strategies developed by the Workgroups are reviewed and adopted by the Executive Committee and Leadership Council, they will be published in the Central Florida Regional SourceBook and distributed across the region beginning in July 2003.

An incredible team of volunteers has been appointed to lead this next step—Opportunities Evaluation – to help myregion.org develop a new framework for Central Florida. (Click here to view the Organizational Chart)
