At the close of 2002, myregion.org’s Executive Committee was busy reaching out to key stakeholders in the Central Florida region.
On November 25, 2002, Chairman Joel Hass and Healthcare Co-Chairs, Tom Hunt and Craig McAllaster, presented an update on myregion.org to Healthcare CEOs from Brevard County at the new Parrish Medical Center in Titusville. The presentation included background on the project, and outlined key regional Opportunities and Threats that have surfaced during the fourth and fifth phase of the project, Conclusion Development and Opportunities Evaluation. There was also discussion on a few more regional healthcare issues such as a standard regional healthcare policy, informing the public on malpractice issues and the debate on whether a medical school in Central Florida would be beneficial.
On December 9, 2002, Chairman Joel Hass and Healthcare Co-Chair Tom Hunt visited Volusia County where they addressed the CEOs of Halifax Fish Community Health. Much of the same discussion and concerns were expressed as in Brevard County. The CEOs of Halifax Fish Community Health expressed their appreciation to myregion.org for reaching out to the outlining counties regarding healthcare and other regional issues.
On Thursday, December 12, after a full day of meetings with the Leadership Council, CEO Roundtable and Executive Committee. Project Consultant, Michael Gallis presented to leaders and concerned citizens in Lake County. The meeting was held at the South Lake Chamber of Commerce and was an overwhelming success. Click

On December 13, 2002, Economy/Workforce Co-Chairs Teresa Jacobs and Keith Witt gathered at the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission with a full house of professionals in Workforce Development.
Similar to the healthcare presentations, a background of myregion.org was given by Shelley Lauten, Project Director, and then a discussion followed to ensure the information was correct and in-line with the Opportunities and Threats that surfaced during the fourth and fifth phases of the project.
