Become an Informed Voter!

Constitutionalism can be traced back to the times of philosophers Plato and Aristotle around 400 B.C. But modern constitutionalism began in 1638, when four Connecticut river plantations created a constitution and a political state. The U.S. Constitution, written in 1787, was the first national constitution and to this day continues to be the most influential and the most long-lived of all.

For over two centuries, America’s system of representative government has been vested with the responsibility of protecting the rights of all citizens. On November 5, Florida voters will again be asked to make important decisions concerning 10 Ballot Initiatives that, if passed, will amend Florida’s Constitution.

In order to assist citizens in making informed decisions in the voting booth, the Florida Chamber of Commerce has prepared a review of the 10 proposed amendments.

Take your voting responsibility seriously, and make time to review this summary that provides the Who, What, How and Why of these proposed amendments that could dramatically change Florida for years to come.
