In addition, Orlando is one of the country’s largest convention sites (1.1 million sq. ft.), currently ranking just below Chicago (2.2 million sq. ft.) and Houston (1.13 million sq. ft.) in terms of total square footage of exhibit space. At the completion of its expansion currently underway, Orlando (2.1 million sq. ft.) will rank second behind Chicago

myregion.org has Speakers Available

Last December, over 600 community leaders gathered to launch myregion.org, a regional partnership that involves government, business, institutional leaders and citizens from Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole and Volusia counties. Never attempted before, this project will study 13 different systems in Central Florida from tourism to transportation, education to public safety and their relationships to each other and throughout the region in order to better understand how parts of the region fit together and how we can position Central Florida in the world marketplace.

In order to explain and update the public on the progress of the project, myregion.org has created a Speakers Bureau, and volunteer speakers are available during September, October and November to visit civic groups, trade associations, seniors groups and other public venues as part of its community-outreach program. A PowerPoint presentation has also been developed and is being used successfully in this effort.

Take advantage of this exciting opportunity that is sure to spark interaction and discussion, as well as support of this initiative. To schedule a myregion.org speaker for your group, please contact Jen Amodt at 407.835.2449 or via email at jen.amodt@orlando.org.
