Volunteer Appreciation Awards

On May 5th LVMC hosted a fiesta to show our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. We are so thankful for the many hours our volunteers give to help make a difference in the lives of others. The event was held at the new LVMC West Lab location, everyone had the opportunity to tour the new facility. This year we presented five Awards for Excellence in Service, the winners were Robert M. Sternberger, Les Holland, Stewart Manley, Bob Isreal, and Patrick Murphy.

Sudanese Students In The Valley Of The Sun

Since 1982 Literacy Volunteers of Maricopa County has been making a positive impact in our community. Just last year we helped change the lives of 1,743 students. With the dedication of the volunteers and staff 125,497 hours of instruction were given. Students from all over the world have benefited from the services provided at LVMC. We would like to take this opportunity to share two of their stories.
