Aiding Humanity through Knowledge
Dr. Jim Mihelcic and Linda Phillips, Civil and Environmental Engineering, co-authored the “Field Guide to Environmental Engineering for Development Workers” with colleagues from Michigan Tech. The guide focuses on water, sanitation, and indoor air projects and shows engineers how to apply the professional skills they have learned to serve humanity. The guide provides background on planning projects and tips on using available materials. The illustrated guide is based on the work Mihelcic and Phillips have done with the USF Master’s International Program and the International Capstone Design Course.
