London – More Than Meets “The Eye”
The Education Abroad office at USF offers students the opportunity to travel to destinations round the globe. One of these destinations is the United Kingdom. Affiliated with Middlesex University in London, USF’s collaboration with Middlesex was pioneered over a decade ago by the Theater department. In 2001, the Education Abroad agreement was extended to a campus-wide exchange allowing students from all colleges to participate. The exchange is very appealing to students as they are given the option to do an internship in the U.K. during the course of their stay. Offered in fall and spring, students are able to spend five months working for a U.K.-based organization in the area of their choice. Internship placements are handled by Middlesex University and previous placements include corporate and non-profit firms like the BBC and Oxfam.
