Dr. María Crummett
Dr. María Crummett, Dean of International Affairs, has been awarded a Fulbright Grant to Japan. Dean Crummett, one of five Japan International Education Administrator (IEA) recipients nationwide, will spend three weeks in Japan as a goodwill ambassador and act as a resource on the internationalization of higher education in the U.S.

Summer and semester Education Abroad (EA) programs offer students a variety of options to choose from. Offered as a semester exchange program and a short term summer program, Greece through the American College in Thessaloniki (ACT) provides students the opportunity to study in one of the world’s most fascinating places.

International Week 2009
International Week 2009International Week held March 30 -April 3, 2009 is a group of events across campus that brings international education and global awareness to USF. International Week included over 30 sponsors and more than twelve events, making it the largest International Week in USF’s history. Highlights included the International Exhibit, the Showcase of Flags and Diversity Display, the ISLAC Film Festival, Night of Cultural Diversity, and a student group sponsored soccer tournament.

Communications, Media, and Globalization in Modern India
          Dr. Chandrika Kaul
Dr. Chandrika Kaul, author of Reporting the Raj – The British Press and India c. 1880 – 1922 addressed an audience of faculty, students and scholars at the Grace Allen room on April 2, 2009. Titled “An Imperial Village: Communications, Media and Globalization in Modern India”, Dr. Kaul’s presentation dealt with the history of the communication revolution, and its role  in colonial India.

A Winning Experience
USF Students in Dubai
The Education Without Borders Conference was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from March 27 - April 2, 2009. A biennial event, the conference brought together students from colleges around the world to address, discuss and share their ideas about global challenges and potential solutions.
The conference gave students the opportunity to actively participate in solving issues that they are passionate about and affect the world around them.
