Japan World Heritage Photo Reception. | On February 6, 2009 over one hundred and fifty people gathered in the College of Business’s Atrium for the grand opening of the Japan World Heritage Photo Panels on exhibit for the first time in the United States.

Chong Dong-Young | On February 12, 2009, Chong Dong-Young, a Korean politician and former candidate in the 2007 Korean presidential race, addressed an audience of over 90 USF faculty, students, and staff. His talk entitled, “The Fourth Wave,” focused on changes in the Korean Peninsula and the role of the Gaesong Industrial Park. A visiting scholar at Duke University, Young addressed the four stages of change that the Korean peninsula is going through.

Not Just Another Love Story

Dr. Lino Fernández and USF students | On February 19, 2009, the Cuban American Student Association invited Dr. Lino Fernández and author Kay Abella to USF to discuss the book, Fighting Castro: A Love Story. The novel is based on a true story of a couple (Dr. Lino Fernández and his wife, Emy Fernández) separated by war, regime, and imprisonment.
