ELI International Festival | International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.

ELI Thanksgiving Dinner | Every year, the English Language Institute and International Services bring Thanksgiving to USF’s international student population. This year over 200 students attended the traditional dinner to learn about and celebrate a cherished holiday in the U.S.

Tharaka Dimuthu Asanka Alahakoon is just as interesting as his name. An international student from Sri Lanka, Tharakka is friendly, motivated and has a story to tell. Enrolling at USF as an undergraduate in 2001, he says is glad he made the transition to USF.

The Fall of the Berlin Wall |
In November USF participated in commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. One of 29 colleges and universities in the United States to pay tribute to one of the most significant events in history, USF hosted a series of events under the title ‘Freedom Without Walls’.

And The Winners Are...
|

Winners of IPC 2009 | On November 3, 2009, the Office of International Affairs hosted a reception for the winners of the annual International Photo Competition. Hosted annually, the competition receives a large number of participants and response from students, faculty, and staff. The winning photographs will be displayed throughout the year on the second floor of the USF Bookstore and in the International Affairs Office.
