When Dr. Mark Orr, founder of the USF International Affairs Center passed away on January 2, 2010, the university and IAC in particular lost one of its most cherished patrons. The legacy that Dr. Orr has left behind as a professor, an administrator and a human being who believed that conversation and understanding were the best weapons to bring cultures and countries together in harmony is one that will never fade away.

Interactive Teaching in a Globalized World
Recently awarded a grant by the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), the Patel Center for Global Solutions and the College of Education at USF are conducting a six-week workshop on “Interactive Teaching in a Globalized World” between February 4 and March 14, 2010.

| The International Capstone program to Bolivia is one of USF Education Abroad’s most recent success stories. Returning from their program in December, students in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering say the program gave them exactly what it was designed to provide - the opportunity to travel abroad and implement their academic knowledge in a realistic setting.
