Recalls Announced
Does your company operate a Genie (a Terex Brand) forklift or do your employees use high-impact propionate visors manufactured by Paulson Manufacturing marked Z87.1+?

Hellman & Associates has received notification of a Stop-Use and Recall Notice for both of these products.

1.   Genie Industries has determined that, under certain conditions on the following models of forklifts, the parking brake may release unintentionally.  If this happens, the machine could roll out of control which may result in a collision or create another hazard.  The model numbers are:

GTH-1048 and GTH-1056

Serial Numbers affected are:
GTH-1007B – 7101 to 7251
GTH-1007A – 11697 to 11770
GTH-1008A – 11785 to 13539
GTH-1009A – 13543 – 13704
GTH-1010A – 13713 – 13748

Hellman & Associates has more information if you wish to contact us or the phone number for the Manufacturer in the United States is 800.536.1800.

2.      High impact propionate visors manufactured by Paulson Manufacturing and marked Z87.1+ may not meet the high impact requirements of the ANSI Z87.1-2003 standard.  The visor part number, material type and date of manufacture are identified on the visor label.  The visors affected include the following part numbers manufactured from February 2004 through January 2010:

MSA Part Number           Color/Description
      10005883                    Clear/Molded
      10005885                    Dark Green/Molded
      10006024                    Green-Brown/Arc Shield
      10086994                    Medium Green/Molded
      10086998                    Dark Green/Molded
      10087000                    Clear/Molded
      10087022                    Clear/Nitrometer

These visors meet all other performance requirements of ANSI Z87.1-2003 including requirements for basic impact.

MSA issued the Stop-Use and Recall Notice as a precautionary measure.  They have not received any complaints or returns of the high impact propionate visor part numbers listed above due to impact non-conformance since first offering these products in 2004. They are offering, free of charge, alternate visors to replace these products.  Please contact Hellman & Associates for more information or go directly to the MSA website:
