CHAMBER REACHES OVER 600 PEOPLE IN ONE DAY

“Frisco is a great place to work, play and live” This was the message communicated to over 600 AmericsourceBergen employees who will be relocating to Frisco in the near future.

In information packets put together by Frisco Chamber of Commerce staff and a host of volunteers, the employees received Referral & Relocation Guides, a city street map, and promotional information on everything from real estate agents to tasty treats, local restaurants to places of worship.

Through the Chamber’s contract with the Frisco Economic Development Corporation (FEDC), the Chamber operates the Business Retention Expansion Program (BREP) with a two-fold mission.

The first mission of the BREP is to reach out to businesses currently located in Frisco and find out what issues they are facing as far as maintaining or expanding their business. This is accomplished through one-on-one visits to companies by members of the BREP Committee.  Once the visit with the business is completed, the BREP Committee works to find resources within the community that could address the issues and assist the business in their goals.

The second mission of the BREP is to reach out to businesses relocating into Frisco and look for ways to make their transition a smooth one.  That is the case with AmerisourceBergen. Realizing that moving to a new community can be a stressful experience, and looking for ways to add value to Chamber Membership, the Chamber was able to provide information to the employees involved in relocation and promote the great resources available in the Referral & Relocation Guide.

Tony Felker, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for the Chamber, participated in the orientation sessions for the AmerisourceBergen employees, welcoming them to Frisco and encouraging them to use the Referral & Relocation Guide as a resource for all their needs in Frisco.

A special thank you to the volunteers who helped stuff 650 welcome packets for distribution: Larry Wilhelm (eWilson Technology), Jerry Van Pelt (Coldwell Banker Apex), Jackie Jeffrey (Ebby Halliday Realtors), Angela Blackston, Allen Blackston, Amber Blackston, Ariana Blackston, and members of the Wakeland High School football team and student body.  Thank you also to the many businesses who donated door prizes and materials for the welcome packets.

If you would like to help on future ventures and/or other areas of BREP please call Tony Felker at 972.335.9522 or e-mail at tfelker@friscochamber.com.
