City holds public art workshop

Tacoma Symphony Orchestra offers direct connection through Behind the Stands
Tacoma Symphony Music Director Harvey Felder will host an evening of music and conversation at the Tacoma Art Museum through their Behind the Stands program. The concert, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Tacoma Art Museum, 1701 Pacific Ave., will feature members of the Tacoma Symphony performing works by Beethoven, Mozart and Debussy.

Behind the Stands is an innovative concept designed to break down the barriers of a formal concert setting to create a more direct connection between the audience, the conductor and the musicians. Guests will be seated just a few feet from the musicians. The Maestro Felder will engage the audience in an insightful conversation about the creative process and the musicians will share their perspectives about preparation and performance.

For more information, visit www.tacomasymphony.org.
