The Story of FEPA

The Florida Energy Pipeline Association began as an idea sketched on a napkin in the Capitol cafeteria in 1989 and now represents more than 64 energy pipeline industry member companies.

FEPA's Founders, Chris and Audrey Jensen
Chris and Audrey Jensen Chris Jensen Sr. and his spouse, Audrey Jensen, were founding members of the Florida Energy Pipeline Association in 1989. Mr. Jensen served the Florida energy pipeline industry for more than 40 years, including as executive director of FEPA from its inception until his death in 2003.

LB Brashier First Recipient of the Jensen Award

Nominated by Wiley Cauthen and approved by the Jensen Award committee, the inaugural recipient of the Jensen Award was L. B. Brashier, the first Chairman of the FEPA Board of Directors.

Energy proposals include more nuclear power, conservation
The Florida Energy Commission’s (FEC) first set of annual energy policy recommendations to the legislature was presented in December, and includes a wide range of goals.

Carter to Become Chairman of PSC

The Florida Public Service Commission announced that Matthew M. Carter II will assume chairmanship of the PSC at the Jan. 8 agenda conference. His installation is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the Betty Easley Conference Center, Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148), 4075 Esplanade Way, Tallahassee.

The PSC regulates utilities in areas of rate base and competitive market oversight and monitors safety, reliability and service.
