Laser Scanning Services of King Engineering
Through Laser Scanning, King is able to capture survey data more efficiently and accurately then ever before. 3D-laser scanning is a relatively new measurement technology for obtaining 3D-coordinates of objects at a project site. Using a HD scanner, the data is collected at a speed of several thousand points per second. This data is imported into the processing software and 3D point cloud is created. The 3D point cloud, can be used with software to view, pan, zoom, and rotate in 3D and obtain instant point to point measurements from the model. With additional post-processing, the raw data can be translated into accurate 2D or 3D AutoCAD drawings to be utilized for design. King's Laser Scanning allows the Engineer or Surveyor to bring the project from the field to their desktop. If you are interested in learning more about the many benefits of using the latest technology employed by King Engineering, please contact Jim Godfrey, PLS in King's Tampa office at 813-880-8881 or send an email to jgodfrey@kingengineering.com.

GES Listed on Top Industry Rankings
GES is pleased to announce that we have been recognized by two exclusive industry rankings: the Engineering News-Record (ENR) Top 200 Environmental Firms and the Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies List.
GES maintained its position at #65 in the top 200 environmental firms ranking; GES was also listed among the top 20 all-environmental firms, consisting of those companies whose environmental revenue is 100% of total company income. ENR's ranking provides an annual look at a $30 billion market, with positions based on 2008 gross revenue for environmental services and products.
Inc. magazine ranked GES number 4356 on its third annual exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at America’s independent entrepreneurs, with standings based on percentage revenue growth from 2005 through 2008.
“GES’ mission is to provide superior, effective, and responsive environmental services to our clients,” said Edward Van Woudenberg, president and chief operating officer. “We continue to pursue our successful positioning as a hands-on consulting firm providing environmental solutions and liability management to our clients. It is rewarding to see our commitment reflected on these highly-respected surveys.”
“Our primary lines of business are environmental assessment, regulatory consulting, rapid or short-term remediation strategies, system design and installation, and O&M,” Van Woudenberg added. “We have a consistent strategy of staying true to our mission while adapting our approach to our clients’ business and regulatory drivers. Examples of these adaptations are GES’ expanding green remediation program, our Max-Ox innovative remediation technologies, and our flexibility in environmental management contracting mechanisms.”

Coates Field Service, Inc. Implements Web Based Safety Program for Employees
Safety concerns and training have become an increasingly important part of the oil and gas industry and have also impacted land and right of way acquisition companies such as Coates Field Service, Inc. In response to that issue, Coates has implemented a web based safety program to provide training to the company’s employees who are working nationwide and to provide tracking and compliance information for clients.
Coates offers four online safety training courses that employees can access via a secure portal, available to them around the clock. Courses offered as part of a customized employee training package include Incident Reporting Procedures, Situational Safety Awareness, Driver Safety and First Aid.
Each course assures that Coates employees receive relevant, up-to-date training and that they demonstrate safety competency by listening and reading on-screen information and then answering a series of questions. When the employee demonstrates competency by answering the questions correctly, they are awarded a certificate of completion. If the employee does not answer questions correctly, he/she is redirected to review the appropriate training.
The training is documented and Coates can generate reports to verify that employees have obtained safety competency certification. This information is used to comply with the various qualification questionnaires that companies must complete for regulatory and government agencies and other entities.
Coates Field Service, Inc., founded in 1950 in Oklahoma City, is exclusively in the business of land and right of way acquisition, operating nationwide and in Canada. Coates offers a full range of acquisition services to the oil and gas industry, utilities, communications companies, government agencies and private industries. These services include project management, route selection, property management, abstracting and title search, due diligence, database and document management, appraisal, negotiations with property owners, acquisition of easements and land in fee, relocation assistance, permitting, construction liaison and damage settlement.
