AB wins environmental leadership award
Recently, Anheuser-Busch was named a gold leader in the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Environmental Leadership Program. This was given to Anheuser-Busch for its commitment to environmental achievements and excellence. General manager Kevin Fahrenkrog said he would like to reduce water usage by 7.5 percent and energy by 4 percent during next year. The plant project is estimated to save 1.6 million kilowatt hours annually. The brewery also maintains a certified animal wildlife habitat. For more on this story, click here

 
 Organization delivers 162 "blizzard boxes"
With Jack Frost nipping at your nose and Old Man Winter coating your car with snow, it can seem daunting to go out and get groceries needed for the upcoming week. But the people at Meals on Wheels Fort Collins has already braved the cold and delivered more than 162 “blizzard boxes” to make sure the cupboards are full in case Old Man Winter sends another Colorado blizzard. Meals on Wheels Fort Collins had more than 25 volunteers help to make sure the boxes were delivered. 



 Woodward reports earnings increase
Woodward Governor Co’s fourth-quarter sales were up 4 percent over the same quarter in 2008 and its annual sales for fiscal 2009 were up 14 percent, according to an article in the Northern Colorado Business Report. Thomas Gendron, chairman and CEO said, “During this challenging period, we delivered solid financial results by maintaining operating margins and delivering strong cash flow. We believe we have positioned the business to deliver solid results in a difficult environment and to leverage our advantages in the coming rebound. This is the result of a broad effort to manage costs in each of the businesses while investing in opportunities, technologies and relationships that will support future growth."
