I remember it like it was yesterday: the day I took my son to get his driving permit. He went in to take his test and, about 40 minutes later, emerged with his permit in one hand, my car keys in the other and a big grin on his face. "So can I drive home, Dad?" Of course, the answer had to be yes. This is a life changing moment! (More for me, I believed, than for him.)
Sitting in the passenger seat has always been a bit strange for me, but with a 16-year-old new driver merging onto the freeway, it was a scary transition. And, no, those are not "Special Edition" carvings in the dashboard; those are my fingernail indents. We made it home and I became a regular "passenger seat member" until he got his own car. It was all worth it; we both have our freedom now.
Making a transition from one process to another can be hard and a bit scary, even if you think it's for the best. When you or your organization is making the transition from printed newsletters to email newsletters, it can seem like a daunting task. But it really doesn't have to be that way...
