Shop Local!
So, what does $65.60 mean?

The Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce asks all businesses in Eastern Madera County to join in and participate by displaying this number in a predominate location at your work place. This number signifies how much it costs to shop in Fresno. Another way to look at this number is how much you would have to save before you break even, when you shop in the Valley. The fact is that for the average consumer, it actually costs more to shop in Fresno than it does shopping locally!

Company Policy, Employee Status Determine the Need for Holiday Pay
If a non-exempt employee is required to work on a company holiday, what rate should he or she earn for working that day — time-and-one-half or double-time? Neither state nor federal law requires the payment of premium pay for working on a national, state or company-recognized holiday. The only exception is public works prevailing rate jobs.
