myregion.org Reaches New Phase

It won’t make the New York Times Bestseller List, but members of myregion.org are one step closer to developing the initiative’s Source Book, which will serve as the roadmap for the region’s future.

Moving to the “information analysis” phase of myregion.org is a fundamental shift in focus for the project, according to Consultant Michael Gallis whose team of researchers has worked for months with the Leadership Council and project volunteers compiling and interpreting data gathered from throughout the region.

The Leadership Council will work with Gallis’ team to compile the book, which will serve as the resource guide for myregion.org. The book will contain maps pertinent to the 13 issues of study, and will explain in detail the patterns and assets of each topic as it relates to regional and worldwide economies and infrastructures. Additionally, the book may include recommendations for maximizing regional assets and addressing challenges in the future.

The information analysis phase was launched last week with the premiere of 250 full-color maps reflecting the data from every sector of the region, including environment, education, public safety, diversity/demographics, healthcare, culture, infrastructure, development, economy/workforce, governance, tourism, transportation, and history.
