USLAW Transportation Practice Group One Day Fly In/Fly Out Meeting

On Wednesday evening, January 7, 2004, approximately 30 USLAW attorneys from the Transportation Practice Group arrived in the Mobile, Alabama area. Many arrived in time to get together for dinner and meet one another. Others arrived late and enjoyed a continental breakfast the following morning.

Following an introduction of attorneys, an extensive and detailed seminar was put on by USLAW attorneys and by a former DOT inspector and State Trooper truck accident investigator. Because NO CLIENTS WERE INVITED, attorneys with extensive litigation skills but limited experience in the field of transportation litigation were encouraged to ask even the most elementary questions.

Following a morning seminar program, lawyers were taken to the local terminal of Estes-Express, a 5,000 power unit Richmond based transportation company, which has a facility only 5 minutes away from the seminar location. Lawyers were allowed to get behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler and watch the ex-State Trooper perform a tractor-trailer DOT inspection.

Many of the USLAW attorneys left at 5 p.m. following the day long seminar. Others stayed over for one more evening of food and fellowship.

USLAW Product Practice Group Dinner During DRI Conference

USLAW's Product Practice Group members and their clients who attended the annual DRI Product Liability meeting in New Orleans last month got together for an evening of fine food, drink and comraderie. Approximately thirty lawyers and clients met for a dazzling evening and dinner at Emeril's, one of New Orleans' premiere restaurants. The food and the company were great. The evening provided a welcome and relaxed interlude to this major conference. This was the first event of its kind for the Product Group and the response was quite gratifying. It promises to become an annual event and we look forward to seeing USLAW Product Group members at next year's DRI meeting.

USLAW Transportation Practice Group Dinner During DRI Conference

On Thursday evening, April 1, 2004, the USLAW Transportation Practice Group hosted a cocktail party and dinner in St. Louis during the annual DRI Transportation Seminar.  The dinner was held at Balaban's Café, an outstanding restaurant with a renowned reputation.  Approximately 35 members and clients participated.  The evening was enjoyed by all.  The dinner began with a champagne toast to member Tom Oliver of the Carr Allison firm, who turned 40 on April 1.  At the conclusion of dinner, a large group of members and clients met in the St. Louis bar district, known as the "Landing," for further festivities and fellowship. It was a successful conclusion to this national conference.
