Nancy Barry joined The Dallas Morning News in 1989 as community services manager. She was promoted to vice president/community services in 1993. In 2001, Nancy’s role expanded to include serving as vice president/community services for The Morning News, WFAA-TV, TXCN and Belo Interactive. In her current position, she and her staff plan and coordinate more than 500 annual community service and educational programs sponsored by these Belo subsidiaries. In 1996, Nancy was named one of the “Top Twenty Under Forty” by the Newspaper Association of America. In 2000, she was named Dallas Mother of the Year by the Dallas Can! Academy. Before joining The Morning News, Nancy worked in various community relations positions at TU Electric (now TXU), from 1980—1989. She earned a bachelor of science degree in 1979 from Stephen F. Austin State University. Nancy, a native Dallasite, is the proud mother of two children, Chris and Lauren.
