Department of Defense hosts
Terrorism Debriefing

Public Safety has always been a concern and an important area of study of myregion.org. Even before the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the Project Leadership had determined that collaboration among police, fire, and all levels of public service is imperative if we want to preserve the good health, safety and welfare of all the citizens of the region.

One of the goals of myregion.org is to train Central Florida’s leaders to successfully guide our future by creating a deeper understanding of the realities of the assets, threats and opportunities in our region. As a regional leader, you can also get involved. Public Safety Co-Chairs Patrick Blucker, Director of Plans and Programs, United States Air Force 45th Space Wing and Lake County Commissioner Welton Cadwell invite you to participate in a Terrorism Debriefing on June 19-20, 2003, sponsored by the Department of Defense.

The debriefing is the first of its kind in the nation and will be primarily open to corporate and government leaders and their staffs, as well as law enforcement, medical, fire, security, ministry, education, media and tourism professionals throughout Florida.

The United States National Guard Bureau and the Department of Defense have underwritten the expense for the two-day seminar to equip citizens in the event of a critical incident. It will feature Dwight Bain, national expert on success after crisis. Bain is one of the few government-trained experts, currently in Florida, certified by the Department of the Army, Air Force and U.S. National Guard to debrief government and corporate leaders.

Invited guests include, Secretary Tom Ridge, Department of Homeland Security; Jeb Bush, Governor of Florida; and a special video address by President George W. Bush.
