Giv'em Something to Believe In One benefit of getting press coverage is that you have someone else praising you. No one likes or trusts a braggart, but third party acclamation isnt bragging. When the public sees the local newspaper covering your activities, their trust and confidence in you is strengthened. You have been recognized by the public as a leader. Since people expect the newspaper to report the facts fairly, when they see your name and face on the page, they automatically assume that you are someone in whom the general public has a high degree of trust. Additionally, appearance in the local press communicates that you are not average. Youre special and people like to be around special people because it makes them feel special. This is sometimes called Borrowed Importance. Almost everyone wants to be around someone that makes them feel important. When they see you in the newspaper your existing patients will want to tell everyone, Thats my dentist, and prospective patients will say, That should be my dentist, or, I wish that were my dentist. Jeff Gray, a Dental Boot Kamp grad and Crown Council member in San Diego CA says, I think that people are looking for a reason to believe in you or trust in you. People are looking for something that they can hang their hat on that says, This is the right choice. So stop thinking about doing something that will get your name in the newspaper. Go out and make it happen. Give people a reason to believe in you and youll get more patients than you ever thought possible. This article is provided courtesy of Dental Boot Kamp. Greg Sneyd, Director of DentalSuccess says ...
Be Your Own Most Committed Patient You can multiply your results with patients when you really believe in what you do. And the best way to believe in the services of your dental practice is simple: Become a committed patient of your practice. The person who speaks from the heart of experience always speaks more powerfully than the one speaking just from the head. To communicate effectively, let alone persuade, you need to have intimate knowledge of your subject; anything short of that is hypocritical. Its best to have your dental health attended to by the dentist with whom you work. Are you using your dental practices services on a regular basis? But thats not enough. Are you as happy with your smile as you would like to be? Do you have a smile that your patients look at and say, Thats the kind of smile I would like to have! Does everyone on your team have a smile that the entire team is proud of? Does the doctor have a smile that every patient looks at and thinks, This dentist must really know what he/she is doing. Those are beautiful teeth. If not, then you may need to spend some time getting your teams smiles up to par, before you try to get your patients to do the same. And it even goes beyond that. If you do not recommend to someone very close to you that they use your dental practices services, then you are not a true believer. Is your mother, father, spouse, sibling or best friend one of your practices patients? If not, why not? Maybe you need to become a better believer and a more committed patient of your dental practice. Everything rests on your belief. Youll feel like a phony if you dont believe in everything that your practice sells. And if you feel like a phony, do you think your patients are going to see right through you? You bet they are! Lets put it this way: if youve used your practices dental services and it hasnt made you a believer, there is no hope. Stop right there! Change jobs! Quickly! And if you have fellow team members who are not believers, you had better have a little heart-to-heart with them. If their not prepared to change then maybe it time for a little turkey-shoot!
