Constitutional Amendment Campaign

This week the Florida Chamber’s grassroots powerhouse Federation of 89 chambers overwhelmingly agreed to help local businesses understand the fiscal and otherwise negative impact of the 10 constitutional amendments that will appear on the November 5 ballot.

Federation chambers have committed to an education campaign to ensure voters have the information they need to make informed decisions at the voting booth. The Florida Chamber has produced a concise voting guide http://www.flchamber.com/Home/FBARvoteguide.asp that businesses are able to distribute to those in their communities -- friends, neighbors, colleagues and employees. The voting guide explains what each proposed amendment means and identifies its sourceand whether or not it is appropriate for ballot referendum.

The Florida Chamber and its Federation are committed to stopping the proliferation of well-meaning, but ill-conceived and special interest-driven constitutional amendments that have significant unintended fiscal and social consequences.
