The San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce has agreed to partner with SCORE, a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration to create a Small Business Resource Center for East County businesses in the Chamber offices located at 201 S. Magnolia in El Cajon.

The San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce’s First Friday Breakfast for August is being sponsored by Lo-Har Lodge and Parkside Special Care.

The breakfast will be held Friday, August 4th, from 7: 15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at the HomeTown Buffet located at 390 W. Main Street in El Cajon.

Inspired by the sounds and fun of Jimmy Buffet, the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce will inaugurate “Primetime” on August 23rd from 5:30 to 7:30 at Cottonwood Golf Club’s “Pavilion on the Green”. A combination mixer-trade show, this event will feature many of the new members who joined during the Chamber’s very successful Membership Event held last spring.

The La Mesa Oktoberfest is right around the corner and the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce is in need of volunteers to work in the Beer Garden. This is your chance to be a part of the largest Oktoberfest in the Southwest and have a ball doing it!

If you have a few hours you can spare during Oktoberfest weekend (October 6th through 8th) and you want to be part of a 30 + year East County tradition please call the Chamber office at (619) 440-6161. Wilkomen!

There are still a few slots available for the Chamber’s Leadership East County Class of 2006-2007.
The Leadership East County program begins with an August Orientation and continues through June of the following year.

Early in 2007, the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce will present a half-day workshop on Disaster Preparedness for small and medium-sized businesses. The event is made possible through a grant from the County of San Diego and sponsorship by Blackwater USA. The workshop will include presentations on planning, vital record storage and business continuity forms. There will also be opportunities for display tables for businesses catering to these needs.

Dream Dinners, a new concept in menu preparation where you prepare a weeks worth of meals at one time had their Grand Opening in La Mesa on July 13th. The Chamber Ambassadors helped celebrate the opening with a ribbon cutting. The business is located at 5208 Jackson Drive, Suite 116 in La Mesa.
