BW Names New Athletics Director

Swimmers Excel at Spring Festival

Some incredible swimming was accomplished against Crossroads at the Annual Spring Sports Festival, with Andrew Colbert making his first CIF Consideration standard in the 50 freestyle with a 23.88 and Diana Ciraulo taking her fourth CIF Consideration standard with a 1:01.86 the 100 freestyle. Colbert showed real swimming savvy when he stretched for the wall the 100 free instead of taking an extra stroke, winning the race by two hundredths of a second (.02)…

V-Softball Scores Early & Often in 16-1 Win

EDITOR'S NOTE: This report includes coverage of several previous games as well. Don't miss it!: On April 30, the Varsity Softball Team showed its fangs in a game against Archer at home. Katie Buckner threw five solid innings holding Archer to only one run in a 16-1 win for the Eagles. Brentwood’s offense exploded in the second inning when the Eagles picked up five runs. Highlights of the inning including a bases-loaded double by Katie Buckner to help her to own cause. In the third inning, Brentwood put together 10 hits, picking up another nine runs. The inning started with four straight hits - a single by Jane Bender, a double by Grace Stern, a single by Bailey Nassetta and a double by Michelle Susskind...

Boys V-Tennis Continues to Soar

The Boys Varsity Tennis team closed out its regular season with an 18-0, exclamation-point win against Montclair Prep on May 1, to follow up 10-8 and 14-4 wins against Mira Costa and Crossroads, respectively, on April 27 and 28. The team, which won the CIF Div III championship last year, finished the reason with a single loss in the tennis equivalent of “overtime” in a national tournament back in March. Competing in Div. II this year, the team now looks toward League and CIF playoffs.

7-0 MD Boys V-ball in League Championship

After a convincing victory over the Westside Neighborhood School Jets, the Brentwood Eagles will play for the league championship on Thursday May 7th at home. The first game was a 25-12 win, the second game was a 25-23 win with many of the starters rotating in and out of the lineup. The match was a true team victory with Kamber Moss leading with four serving aces and three kills. Shane McDonald had five kills and Leland King added two more kills plus a convincing block. The Middle Division Softball team brought their bats and kept them working in the squad's last home game of the regular season against New Roads School on April 24, 2009, and the result was a mercy-rule shortened 18-1 victory for the now soaring Eagles.
