Economic Summit A Success
The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Summit was held on October 13th at The Point on the CC Young Campus. Several business leaders were in attendance to hear our featured speakers., which included Senator Florence Shapiro, Senator John Carona, Benny McMahon, President/CEO of the Texas Association of Realtors, Karen Walz with Vision North Texas, Michael Miles with DART, Ken Durand, President/CEO of CC Young and Gerry Worrall with the Garland Road Initiative.

Business After Hours at Deaton's Hair Design and Gifts
Deaton's Hair Design and Gifts is hosting a Ribbon Cutting and Business After Hours on October 28th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  Deaton's is located at 8630 Garland Road, next door to Walton's Gardens.  Please join us in congratulating them at their new location.  They will be offering a 25% discount on their entire gift inventory with selected merchandise at 50%.  They have a lovely selection of gifts just in time for those holiday purchases.

Minuteman Press to Change Location
Minuteman Press will be moving to a new building on Monday, November 9th. Their new location will be at 10202 Garland Road, just east of Casa Linda between Peavy ans Easton. Look for an upcoming Ribbon Cutting event on December 1st.

The Ferguson Road Initiative (FRI) in partnership with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Dallas, Girls, Inc., and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, launched Project Wi$e Up this week with an inaugural session of Take Charge of Your Money at White Rock Hills Town Homes (7229 Ferguson).
