Business After Hours at Deaton's Hair Design and Gifts

We're combining two events in one evening so be sure to attend the Ribbon Cutting and Business after Hours on October 28th for Deaton's Hair Design and Gifts at 8630 Garland Road, next to Walton's Gardens.

This combined event is a great opportunity for members to network so be sure to come out and meet with other chamber members and Deaton's clientele.

Both Business after Hours and Ribbon Cuttings are well attended and can be scheduled by contacting the Chamber at 214.328.4100 or emailing us at president@eastdallaschamber.com.

Every Thursday our Power Hour Networking group meets at Highland Park Cafeteria. Attendees give a one minute commercial and chamber members are selected to give 10 minute presentations at each meeting. Monthly featured speakers are also a big draw for this group and include motivational and experts in a variety of fields. Upcoming 10-minute speaker on November 5th will be Lisa Schreiner from the Dallas Children’s Theater.

Economic Summit A Success
The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Summit was held on October 13th at The Point on the C. C. Young Campus.  Hon. Mary Poss, Chairman of the Chamber, was our emcee for the event.  Several business leaders were in attendance to hear our featured speakers, which included Senator Florence Shapiro, Senator John Carona, Benny McMahon, President/CEO of the Texas Association of Realtors, Karen Walz with Vision North Texas, Michael Miles with DART, Ken Durand, President/CEO of CC Young and Gerry Worrall with the Garland Road Initiative. The very informative topics included education, transportation, real estate in Texas, the growth of North Texas, Dart expansion, the increased need for Senior Housing, and the Garland Road Vision. Thank you to the wonderful speakers and all our sponsors. The Point was a perfect venue for the Summit, and their facilities are available for meetings and special events.
