Business After Hours at Deaton's Hair Design and Gifts

We're combining two events in one evening so be sure to attend the Ribbon Cutting and Business after Hours on October 28th for Deaton's Hair Design and Gifts at 8630 Garland Road, next to Walton's Gardens.

This combined event is a great opportunity for members to network so be sure to come out and meet with other chamber members and Deaton's clientele.

Both Business after Hours and Ribbon Cuttings are well attended and can be scheduled by contacting the Chamber at 214.328.4100 or emailing us at president@eastdallaschamber.com.

Garland Road Vision Held Open House

People living and working along Garland Road in Dallas were invited to attend an open house October 8 at the First Family Church on Garland Road to provide their ideas, thoughts and suggestions for improving the roadway corridor and adjacent land use decisions.

The Garland Road Vision Advisory Committee, the City of Dallas, and the North Central Texas Council of Governments have joined together to conduct a visioning study for Garland Road in Dallas. The limits of the study generally are from IH-635 south to Gaston Avenue. The study intends to create a vision for the Garland Road corridor to stimulate commercial revitalization; beautify the corridor’s existing architecture and landscaping; enhance urban design components, such as lighting or signage; reduce congestion; and create walkable/bikeable communities along the five-mile corridor.

Information about the purpose of the visioning study, the anticipated outcomes and a proposed schedule were available at the open house. Information about how to participate in the process and make
comments on the visioning study were also be presented. Attendees were asked to identify significant community buildings, important elements that exist along the corridor and where traffic congestion
occurs. They were also asked to provide other key information about the Garland Road corridor and to offer their ideas and suggestions for the future Garland Road corridor.
