Celebrate Australia Day!
As a nation of immigrants, it’s not surprising that we continue to observe the traditions of our native countries. We even like to observe the traditions and holidays of other’s native countries. On St. Patrick’s Day, we don’t think twice – even if our last name isn’t O’Something or McWhatever – about having a pint of Guinness or drinking green beer. On Cinco de Mayo, it’s cervesas and enchiladas for everyone.
We have a grand tradition of embracing the national holidays of other countries, particularly those that emphasize eating and drinking. And this year Americans will have the opportunity to add another national day to their roster because Monday, January 26th is Australia Day and this year you’re invited to join with Aussies and non-Aussies alike for a “Taste Down Under!” Click on the "Full Story" for a list of participating restaurants.
