New District Award Honors Learning Technology
A newcomer to the DCCCD Awards program, the Learning Technology Innovation of the Year Award for 2008-2009 is the result of a recommendation made via the Distance Learning Strategic Planning process during 2007-2008.
This award is a districtwide pilot for 2008-2009 focused on innovations in learning technology that are scalable, sustainable and replicable with a focus on student success.
The District’s response to the award was phenomenal, with 12 innovations being nominated. The winner of this pilot year's award was the Digital Resource Repository, Bob Crook and Craig Mayes of the LeCroy Center, team leaders.
The repository provides a unique, searchable database of more than 2,500 video segments and interactive Flash exercises available for DCCCD faculty use. This innovation was a collaboration of the LeCroy Center's production, product design and marketing departments, along with San Bernadino Community College.
