ERS Summer Enrollment Benefits Fair
Patty Lollar of North Lake College makes changes to her TexFlex account at the ERS Summer Enrollment Information Fair. El Centro director of Human Resources Robert Garcia and Rosalind Gipson of District Human Resources facilitate the process.
Held Aug. 4 at the Bill Priest campus of El Centro College, the event offered employees the opportunity to get answers to their benefits questions. Texa$aver, Payflex, HealthSelect, Caremark, Dental Choice, Aetna, John Hancock and Fort Dearborn Life exhibits provided plan information as well.
“I’m glad we could get answers to pertinent questions from knowledgeable representatives,” said Lollar. “The ERS benefits presentation was also very informative.”
ERS Summer Enrollment continues through Aug. 22. For further information, call ERS at 877-275-4377, visit their Web site at http://www.ers.state.tx.us or contact your location HR benefits staff.

Catastrophic Sick Leave Pool
Sick Day Donations Accepted Through Aug. 31
During August, professional support staff and full-time administrators have a unique opportunity. Each person may donate a maximum of 10 days from his/her earned sick days to the Catastrophic Sick Leave Pool.
Established in 1991, the Catastrophic Sick Leave Pool is available to full-time employees who have exhausted all other paid leave. A catastrophic illness is one that requires complete absence from work for a specified period. There are a number of qualifying rules involved, including a formal application.
Luis Camacho, associate vice chancellor, Human and Organizational Development, reports that those who draw from the pool greatly appreciate the generosity of those who have donated. Watch for information about this program from your location Human Resources Office.
