Congratulations to the DCCCD Basic Leadership Class of 2008!

This year, 28 employees chosen from all locations have completed the program. They will receive their Certificate of Mastery in Basic Leadership on May 2 at Cityplace Conference Center.

Basic Leadership is the first in a series of institutes providing career and professional development for faculty and staff. Participants develop leadership qualities that benefit them both in their personal and professional lives. They also expand networking and collaborative leadership skills through interaction with class members from other locations.

Redesigned Grievance Procedure Saves Time

The new employee grievance procedure addresses employee complaints and concerns. It also outlines the process and provides the employee grievance form (PDF - 83KB) that is required to resolve them.

Visiting Scholar Program Changes
Special Administrative Appointment Program Created

When it was implemented in Spring 2000, the Visiting Scholar Program included both faculty and administrative positions. Effective March 31, 2008, it will focus solely on faculty.

Originally, the program filled instructional as well as administrative positions on a temporary employment basis; now the areas of emphasis have been separated.

The Special Administrative Appointment (SAA) Program has been created to work with administrators. Through the new program, locations can appoint a temporary administrator to fill a critical or urgent vacancy.

Operational guidelines for the programs are available online. Contact Dawn Segroves in District Human Resources for more information.
